Professional Best Paper Award

  • The Professional Best Paper Award recognises exemplary contributions from practising professionals and academicians. It celebrates research of high technical quality and relevance that advances the state of the art in microwaves, antennas, propagation, and allied fields.
  • The award carries a plaque, certificate, and cash prize.

Industry Best Paper Award

  • The Industry Best Paper Award acknowledges remarkable work by authors affiliated with industry or corporate organisations. It highlights research that successfully bridges theoretical development with practical applications, promoting technology transfer and industrial advancement.
  • In this category, the first author must be from the Industry.
  • The award carries a plaque, certificate, and cash prize.

Student Best Paper Award

  • The Student Best Paper Award is conferred upon a student author whose paper exhibits innovation, technical depth, and clarity. It encourages and recognises emerging talent in the fields of RF, antennas, and microwave engineering, fostering excellence among the next generation of researchers.
  • In this category, the first author must be from Industry.
  • The award carries a plaque, certificate, and cash prize.

Young Professional (YP) Best Paper Award for Male

  • The Young Professional Best Paper Award celebrates outstanding technical contributions from early-career professionals. As per IEEE standards, a Young Professional (YP) is defined as an IEEE member who has graduated within the last fifteen (15) years with their first professional degree (typically a bachelor’s degree) and is actively engaged in professional practice or research.
  • In this category, the first author must be a male Young Professional (not a student).
  • The award carries a plaque, certificate, and cash prize

  • The Young Professional Best Paper Award celebrates outstanding technical contributions from early-career professionals. C.J. Reddy Best Paper Award for Young Professionals

This award is instituted by Dr. C.J. Reddy, Vice President Business Development, Electromagnetics – Americas, Altair, USA. This award recognises creativity, precision, and impactful research contributions in the field and celebrates excellence in innovation and practical problem-solving within the microwave and antenna domains.

  • This award has two prizes, one for male and another for female.
  • Each awardee shall be a young professional (as defined by IEEE) and shall be the first author of a paper presented orally during the conference in the Antenna & Propagation track.
  • Each awardee will receive a cash prize of INR 20,000, a plaque, a certificate. All the registered co-authors will also receive plaques and certificates.

Debesh Tripi Choudhury Memorial Award

  • The Debesh & Tripti Choudhury Memorial Award has been established to honour the values and legacy of the Late Debesh Choudhury and the Late Tripti Choudhury — whose lives reflected perseverance, integrity, and a profound commitment to education. Sponsored by Dr. Debabani Choudhury in tribute to her parents, the award aims not only to celebrate academic excellence but also to motivate individuals who strive to succeed despite challenges.
  • This award recognises an exceptional author at IEEE MAPCON 2025 for impactful research and contributions in the fields of microwaves, antennas, and propagation. A central intent of this recognition is to encourage participation and advancement from underrepresented communities—including those facing economic, geographical, or social barriers—who continue to demonstrate determination and passion in their academic or professional journey.
  • The award carries a cash prize of INR 30,000 and will be presented during the MAPCON 2025 Award Ceremony / Valedictory Session, applauding both technical merit and the resilient spirit that this memorial award stands for.

Satish K. Sharma Best Paper Award for Female Doctoral Students

 This award is instituted by Prof. Satish Kumar Sharma, Director of the Antenna & Microwave Lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, San Diego State University, USA. This award recognises creativity, precision, and impactful research contributions in the field and celebrates excellence in innovation and practical problem-solving within the microwave and antenna domains.

  • This award has two prizes: first and second.
  • Criteria: The awardees shall be a female doctoral student and the first author of a paper presented orally during the MAPCON event in the antenna and microwave track.
  • The awardee, who must be the first author of the paper and registered for the conference, will receive a cash prize of INR 15000, a plaque, and a certificate for the first prize, and INR 10,000, a plaque, and a certificate for the second prize. All the registered co-authors will also receive plaques and certificates.
